Dear Ross High RFC members, I would like to take a few minutes to explain the new Memberships and process this season. I will be sending out the payment request at the end of this week, as you will be able to pay through SPOND, either in full, or over four instalments.
Please take some time to read the message below, and if you have any questions about your membership, please let me know before Friday.
💷 Membership fees are the lifeblood of most rugby clubs, helping them go from just a muddy field and some tackle pads to a well-run, vibrant community hub. Here's how those fees make a difference:
🏉 Why Membership Fees Matters to Ross High Rugby Club.
- Equipment training gear, tackle bags, balls, and kits... and suddenly, it's a sizable expense.
- Qualified Coaching & Development Good coaching isn't free. Fees help pay qualified coaches who train players of all levels, from grassroots juniors to senior squads.
- Clubhouse & Facilities Heating, lighting, showers, changing rooms, bar upkeep—memberships contribute to keeping these communal spaces functional and welcoming.
- Insurance & Player Welfare Rugby is a contact sport, so clubs need insurance for players, coaches, and volunteers. Membership fees help cover this vital protection.
- Youth & Grassroots Programs We run mini and junior sections. Fees help subsidize kit, travel, events, and coaching for young players—building the future of the sport.
- Match Day Operations post match pies, gifts, travel costs, first aid provisions—all are funded in part by memberships. Without them, match days can’t run smoothly.
- Club Growth & Legacy Fees allow clubs to invest in outreach, promotional events, and improvements—so the club isn’t just surviving, it’s thriving and growing its community.
🏉 A membership isn’t just a fee—it’s a statement that you’re backing your club, your teammates, and the future of the sport you love.

Membership fees are the financial foundation that keeps the rugby club running—without them, the club simply couldn’t function.
